Adaptation d'un système de mesure in-situ du collage des interfaces de chaussées aéronautiques

Abstract : Regular pavement condition assessment is the key to good in-service pavement management, as it allows to anticipate and optimize maintenance or rehabilitation works. In particular, the bonding conditions of the interfaces between pavement layers are of major concern since their huge impact on the bending mechanical behavior of the pavement and on its residual life. Various non-destructive techniques (NDT) are used to evaluate pavement damage and provide information for maintenance work, but they do not allow a reliable assessment of the interface bond state. The ovalization test, developed in the 1970's by les Laboratoires des Ponts et Chaussées, is an interesting method for that aim. It consists in measuring the variation of the diameter of a core hole at different depths and simultaneously in the three horizontal directions (longitudinal (L), transverse (T) and at 45° to the loading direction) under the passage of a rolling wheel. The existing ovalization equipment has been adapted for the flexible airfield pavements under rolling and dynamic HWD loads. The development of the final ovalization prototype, 3D finite element modeling developed for the data analysis and first comparison with results of an in-situ study, performed on the STAC test facility, are presented in this paper.
