Population structure of human isolates of Streptococcus agalactiae from Dakar and Bangui.

Abstract : Multilocus sequence types of 163 human Streptococcus agalactiae strains isolated in Bangui and Dakar were analyzed. We identified local specificities in the distribution of sequence types and capsular serotypes. However, the overall population structure is similar to that in the United States and Europe, suggesting that few specific clones colonize humans.
