Abstract : In vivo effect of rhamnolipid-biosurfactant on ultrastructure of Pseudomonas aeruginosa NBIMCC 1390 was studied by transmission electron mi- croscopy. It was shown that at concentration below CMC biosurfactant effect was directed predominantly to the cell surface structures and caused character- istic ultrastructural changes. At a concentration above CMC the alterations in cell surface structures were more intensive and some changes in adjacent inner cell structures were observed as well. At both concentrations the cell viability was not affected.
